These students were giving out free hugs in Hong Kong. You can bet your butt I got one! :) Best free hug ever! :)
Okay, so I know that this post is really late, and I visited Hong Kong and Macau back in early December....but! I got the pics up now, so here ya go! For people that may not know, because I wasn't so sure myself, Hong Kong is an island, as is Macau. They're not technically part of mainland China, but they are territories of China. Yeah, I think I'm talking myself into circles. In any case, I went there for a 3 day weekend to visit with an old friend, Loren, who was the best tour director this side of the world! :) I got a chance to check out so many cool places in both Hong Kong and Macau (where Loren lives). I even got to see my first Rugby Match full of sweaty boys, ginormous quads, and celebratory beer chuggin! Loren is part of the Macau Rugby Team, so they got to play in the infamous Hong Kong Stadium, which was rather impressive! The weather was great and super chilly. It really made me miss home. I didn't want to go back to Bangkok! Overall, a super trip! I can't wait to visit again!
My first day in Macau, Loren took me to this cool beach with pretty lethal water...not so clean, but still really a nice place. Anyways, they had all of these cool poems, written in Chinese (obviously) on the rocks there. I wonder what this one says?

Remnants of a church in Macau, which was actually settled by the Portuguese.

After some sightseeing in Macau, we hopped the ferry to Hong Kong and met up with the Rugby Team. The ferry took about an hour...so quick! We stamped our way into Hong Kong and were off to Hong Kong Stadium for Loren's big game!

Go Macau!!

Walking the streets of Kowloon. This is where we stayed the night. P.S. It took us about a good hour to find, but the hotel was really big and comfy too! :)

Times Square!....In Hong Kong!

Me and Steak in Times Square. Yummmm!

Us before the infamous laser light show across the water. Every night in Hong Kong, there is a special laser light show, whereby businesses take part in conducting a light show to flashy music. It's a kick, and everyone comes out to see it every night, so it was such a great end to our time in Hong Kong.

Laser light show at it's best!

Yes, we did get a photo. Yes, it did come back in less than 3 minutes. No, we did not do leg stretches like the girl in the photo.

Loren and I decided to adopt our Chinese Grandma after watching the Laser Light Show

The next day, we decided to take one last stroll around Macua and grab breakfast before I headed off to the airport. Here's a cool pic of a neat "little" house in Macau
